But even if you don’t have a sensitivity, a scent-free blend allows you splash on your favorite cologne, or embrace your own natural manly scent. Either way, our baseline formula keeps things neutral and fragrance free.

Grove Street

Beard Balm Instructions

What Does Beard Balm Do?

Like a beard oil, a beard balm contains premium oils to nourish your skin, soften your beard, and lay the foundations for new growth. It’s also bumped up by two key ingredients: shea butter and beeswax. These allow you to style your beard and keep unruly strands in check.

The truth is, balms and styling waxes are pretty similar. It’s mostly the proportion of wax that varies. In other words, balms give you maximum moisture and medium hold, while wax gives you maximum hold and less moisture.

Why Use Beard Balm?

You get incredible conditioning with styling control. It’s that simple. If you have a particularly dry and bushy beard, you might want to use a balm as well as an oil, just to get added moisture, but it’s not essential.

If you don’t like using beard oils or the smell is too strong for you, a balm should be part of you daily routine. The fragrance is subtle and you still get all the beard-building benefits of a high-quality oil.

How to Apply Beard Balm

Like styling wax, scoop out a small amount of balm and soften it between your hands until it liquefies. It won’t take as long as styling wax because it’s got a higher proportion of oils in it. However, if you live in a cold climate, you might want to soften the balm by putting the jar (with the lid on!) under hot running water.

Gently massage the balm into your beard from root to tip, and don’t forget to rub it into your skin as well. Use your hands or a comb/brush to distribute the balm evenly.

Use daily after a shower, depending on the length and condition of your beard. If you’re already using a beard oil, apply only when medium hold is needed.
